Start Here: Why We’re Chasing the Wonder

Have you ever felt like you were doing all the “right” things—going to church, reading your Bible, attending a small group—but something was still missing?

Like you were surrounded by faith—but starving for substance?

That’s where Chasing the Wonder began.

My name is Chike, and I created this space for people like me—people who love Jesus, but aren’t satisfied with the social performance of Christianity. People who long for more than routine. People who want to experience the presence, the power, and the person of God in their everyday life.

This is a place for the spiritually hungry.

What Is Chasing the Wonder?

Chasing the Wonder is a blog and formation resource designed to help you know God deeply, not just know about Him.

It’s where theology meets story. Where Scripture becomes incarnate. Where spiritual practices are not tasks to be checked off, but doors into communion with the living God.

You’ll find:

  • Honest reflections and storytelling rooted in Scripture
  • Theologically grounded resources for spiritual formation
  • Weekly posts and videos to spark renewal and presence
  • Free tools like journal prompts and printable practices

And you’ll find a growing community of people who believe Christianity is more than belonging to a club.

It’s about becoming like Christ.

Why I Started This

I launched Chasing the Wonder during a season where God lovingly disrupted my rhythm. I had been in ministry for years—leading in worship, prayer, and teaching—but I felt like I was running on empty.

In solitude, I heard the Spirit whisper: Come back to wonder.

That invitation led me to rediscover the beauty of Jesus.

And I realized: so many of us are quietly starving for this.

Across the West—and increasingly in parts of the Global South—Christianity has often become more about social proof than spiritual transformation. We’re accepted if we do X, Y, and Z. We show up to the right things. Say the right words. And completely miss the Person it’s all supposed to be about.

This isn’t about convenience or self-branding.

This is about Jesus.

So I created Chasing the Wonder as a place for people who want more. Who aren’t content with status-quo faith. Who believe Jesus is still forming a people marked by wonder, presence, courage, and joy.

What You’ll Find Here

Chasing the Wonder is rooted in spiritual formation, but it’s not abstract. It’s personal. Practical. And often uncomfortable—in the best way.

You’ll find:

  • The Hold Space Framework: A three-part rhythm (Solitude, Word Incarnation, Discernment) designed to help you create space for God in a distracted world.
  • Reflections and Devotionals: Stories and teachings that stir the soul
  • Downloadable Tools: Journal prompts, rhythm templates, Scripture guides
  • Videos and Micro-teachings: Weekly posts that help you slow down and reconnect

Whether you’re leading others or simply trying to follow Jesus through the noise of everyday life, this space is for you.

A Bit About Me

I’m a husband, father, writer, worship leader, and theology student. I’ve pastored in the local church for over a decade, and I’m currently completing a Master’s in Theology and Spiritual Leadership.

I care deeply about helping people:

  • Reclaim their identity in Christ
  • Encounter God through Scripture and silence
  • Experience healing through community and confession
  • Learn to walk with the Holy Spirit in real, daily life

Everything I write is shaped by this truth: God still dwells with His people.
